Tony’s Painting CA Inc. delivers residential painting projects across San Diego County, from single-room interior repaints to full-property exterior repaints with cabinets and trim. Each project is governed by the written proposal, signed contract, approved change orders where applicable, and applicable written limited workmanship warranty terms.
Here’s what we do for homeowners across San Diego County.
Interior house painting
Walls, ceilings, trim, doors. Single rooms, whole houses, post-remodel touch-ups, color changes. We move and protect furniture before we start, clean up at the end of every day, and walk the property with you at the end. Interior house painting →
Exterior house painting
Stucco repaints, wood siding, trim, accent work. We prep with the right product for the substrate — pressure wash, scrape, caulk, patch, prime — before any paint goes on. Coastal homes (within a mile of the water) often need elastomeric stucco coatings; we’ll tell you when that’s the right call and when standard premium exterior paint is enough. Cabinet refinishing
Kitchen cabinets, bath vanities, built-ins. We pull the doors and drawer fronts, label them, take them to a controlled environment to spray, and prep the boxes in place. Two to three coats of cabinet-grade enamel (Sherwin-Williams Emerald Urethane or Benjamin Moore Advance), proper cure time, hardware re-installed at the end. Cabinet refinishing →
Trim, doors, and detail work
Crown molding, baseboards, doors, window casings, wainscoting. Often the difference between a “good” interior repaint and a great one. We brush and roll where the situation calls for it, and spray on cabinet-grade trim that benefits from a smoother finish.
Drywall repair and prep
Most interior repaints involve some drywall work — patches, nail pops, hairline cracks, the occasional bigger section. We show you what needs to be addressed on the walkthrough and quote it line-item.
Stucco repair (exterior)
Hairline cracks get flexible patching compound. Larger cracks (over 1/8”) often signal a structural issue worth flagging before painting. Soft spots in stucco get cut out and rebuilt with patching mortar, then primed and painted to match. Dry rot on adjacent wood elements gets knocked out a couple of inches past where it stops, not just patched at the visible damage.
Color consultation
We don’t pretend to be designers. But we do know what color choices behave well in San Diego — coastal light, west-facing UV, dark vs. light exteriors, accent walls, trim contrast. We’ll talk it through, recommend test patches on real walls, and let you live with the test patches for a few days before committing. Color decisions made under harsh hardware-store fluorescent light are how houses end up with the wrong color.
Coastal-specific residential work
Homes within a mile of the water need different prep and product than inland repaints. Salt air, marine layer, UV. Elastomeric stucco coatings, premium UV-rated exterior paint, more aggressive surface wash and prep. Tony built the original business in La Jolla in the 1980s — coastal work is what we know best.
Post-remodel painting
If you’ve done a kitchen, bath, or whole-house remodel and you’re ready for paint, the conversation is different than a standard repaint. New drywall takes more primer. Paint colors get chosen against new tile, counters, and flooring. We work with contractors and homeowners directly on post-remodel painting.
Common residential questions
Both. A single bedroom repaint, a whole-house interior repaint, full exterior, cabinet refinishing — same standard, same warranty. We don't have a minimum job size for residential work in San Diego County.
